It is now glaringly obvious why I was at a point in my life where I didn't play too many games: I get hooked too easily.

I've been playing everything from Demon's Souls on the PS3 to Harvest Moon SNES for the Wii...

I think I have a problem.

Do you stay up all night without sleep even though you have to work the next day?
Is your bookshelf to small becouse your collection increases to fast?
How many games do you have right now that you didn't even open yet?
I have 17 of them... And there's about the same amount of titles that I only started playing. There's not enough hours in a day.
Gotta play 'em all!

Ew, Galemerth, just ew.

You guys had better count yourself lucky you can even have this addiction. Since there's no tv in my dorm, I have no console apart from a DS. It's like going cold turkey*! My copy of Persona 4 is still shrink wrapped at home from summer.
I'm going to buy a mouse at some point so I can atleast play CSS though...

*No really, I have started to seek out anyone in bars or clubs that might have gaming equipment worth working my way to their homes for.

Never cared much for MMORPGs. I liked Warcraft 2 and I'm looking forward to Starcraft 2.

I'm about to finish NamcoXCapcom and Doki doki majou shinpan (the first one).
I just now remembered I'm at the last boss of Ichigeki sacho Hoi-Hoi san too. Don't know why I havn't played it in at least a year...

Oh, which reminds me: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is REALLY good...

Too bad WII online is horrible and I have to now drag my copy to game nights at the animu club.

I've been emulating Love Plus on my computer.

I similarly have no TV at my dorm, so it's been a lot of flash games, Project Diva, Etrian Odyssey 2, Love Plus, Melty Blood, and Touhou.

That said, as a result, I spend an inordinate amount of time at a club playing board games and 2 DnD campaigns a week. I'm also setting up a DnD campaign based on Etrian Odyssey to be played over the internet.

I'd say that's pretty bad, lol. When I do visit home, it's basically tens of hours straight on my PS2 with the various RPG's I haven't finished....

So I'm playing WoW again. True story.

I look back to the day where i played 31 hours straight farming honor right after the Burning Crusades patch. Never again.

My most recent gaming addiction has to be this game on my friend's iphone, where I guide a little avatar higher and higher up a bunch of platforms. Available throughout the game are springs, jetpacks, and heli-whatnots to assist my journey to the "top?".

Well those kind of grinds are all but gone now. Reputation grinds are usually in form of weekly or daily quests, and it won't take you long even if you don't play every day. World of Warcraft is much more casual friendly now than it ever was. While in some respects that is a bad thing (it's a lot easier to level up now, for example, taking a bit of the excitement away from it), mostly it's great. You have, for example, a Dungeon Finder tool now, where you can queue for a random dungeon within your level range or specific ones, and the system finds players for you from your whole battlegroup. Since a battlegroup consists of about eight or so servers, it means you can get groups very fast. It lets you teleport into and out from the dungeon to the exact spot you were before you entered, meaning you can quest while waiting for a dungeon group to be formed Smiley

I've been meaning to try Project Diva and Love Plus. Are they any good?

Just received my pre-ordered Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's Portable The Battle Of Aces Lyrical Box.
What is up with that title?

Haven't figured out how to put the game in the PSP yet though... -_-
I'll have the friend who sold me the PSP to show me...
Thought something like that would explain it self...
Guess not...

Which model of PSP is it? For 1000 and I think 2000, there should be a little switch on the top that you slide to unlatch the UMD holder (it'll pop out).

For the 3000, you just flip it open (the cover is sort of just like a door opening upwards).

The PSP Go has no such place, so I hope you didn't get owned there. xD

Do tell how A's Portable is, though! Money worries made me stop short of buying it (even though the pre-order extras looked really nice).

I enjoy Project Diva. There's a lot of things to unlock, the song list is quite large and varied (though it's quite obvious that the supercell playlist is the best in the game, really). There's a huge library of fan art that they use for loading screens, lots of costumes for Miku, tons of random crap to unlock for the Miku room. And as a straight out rhythm game, it's decently challenging. The presentation is similar to Ouendan (that is to say, what you're supposed to press pops up in somewhat arbitrary positions all over the screen, rather than DDR style static placement) but it's still only 4 button press max.
The scoring system's fairly heavily biased towards long combos though, once you get into harder modes. Certain sections of the song allows you gain points equal to the chain number multiplied by a hundred on each successful press (so, first press in that part will net you a bonus 100 points, while the 100th button in that chain would net you a bonus 10000 points).

As for Love Plus, my feelings are mixed. It's a pretty fun dating sim, but I haven't actually gotten to what's supposed to be the real meat of the game--where she's actually your girlfriend. While there's technically only 3 girls, each has 3 possible personality configurations, and they'll get haircuts depending on your feedback. It's pretty fun if you're into this kind of thing. It's pretty novel in that there's a lot of things to do *after* you're done the "getting the girl" part. And they wisely allot you three save slots too, for fairly good reason (you cannot, however, save the same game over different slots, as the game discourages "cheating" in your relationship... the girls will even scold you if you turn off the game without saving, etc. ala Animal Crossing).

It appears to be 3000 then.
I bought it off a friend simply becouse it was pre modded. Turned out I didn't need to mod it in the first place but the SNES emulator has been nice...
Anyway, yeah I figured it out. It feels abit unsafe to just place the cassete in the slot like that and slam it shut. Even the NES had a guiding system...

Maybe I'll give those games a go then.

As for Nanoha. I'll go into it tomorrow. It's freaking awesome if you're a Nanoha fan. Bandai's been involved and they always leave me thinking there should've been more so... yeah...that'd be great, ok.

Yeah... so...

Let me just start with some minor flaws.
After 5 story characters and 3 arcade runs there's no difficulty selection and already from the start only the last 2 of 6-8 battles have been really challenging.
Graf Eisen dosn't have enough lines. I know he speaks (if only a little) I can hear him in the sound room but battlewise all I've heard so far is "Gigant form!" Which is awesome but not enough.
To perform a special move you have to ram or poke your opponent with your weapon. It works game wise but it seems strange to initiate Starlight breaker in close combat or ram your opponent american football style to do Hayates Ragnarok.
The plot is a good excuse to have the main characters fight but it's still just an excuse...

Leaving that aside I love it. It's a vs game similar to Magical battle arena.
Nanoha and Raizing heart do the narration and menu choice voices.

There are 3 "original" characters, really just P2 versions of the the 3 main characters called materials. They are part of The book of darkness' defence program. I like them. Most of the time they are quite challenging too regardless of when you face them.
Found pictures of them here. (and only here... Angry)
http://blog.auone.jp/bleustome/?EP=37189390&disp=entd_p

Seems to be all the original VAs back in action so good job there.

Bandai. I've played harder games. Love Nanoha. Well worth my money.
