Hello
« on: July 09, 2012, 02:04:06 am »
Hello. My name is Banana.

I don't remember how I found this place, but I'm glad I did. Dan Kim has a lot of beautiful stuff. I was thoroughly impressed with Paper Eleven. That shit is boss, yo. Still can't wrap my head around it. Couldn't sleep for a week after I finished it.
Tomoyo42 scared and confused me, as did Nana's Everyday Life. They also kept me awake for a few days.

Anyways...

I looked around the board and was pleasantly surprised to see that there were a couple of artists great in their own respect. I thought, "Hey, these guys are swell! Maybe they'd give me some tips."
I have trouble with anatomy, in particular. Hope y'all can learn me good.

That should do for pleasantries.

About my stuff...

I don't have a lot of drawings to be proud of at the moment (save for some figure works from school), but I do have a couple I'm pretty keen on.

The Forbidden Fruit
Green, from Pokemon, holding a Masterball.

James Dean
Experimenting with crosshatching.

Hey, Banana. Some serious shading chops, there.

Welcome to the boards. It's pretty dead here, but enjoy your stay. : >

Hey, welcome.
Don't expect much to happen here but the board never actually dies. It just moves slower than anything slow.

Howdy.

I remember seeing a tutorial around here on Dan Kim's painting process. Anyone know where I could find it?

Yo!

Here:
http://manga.clone-army.org/tutorials.php

The tutorial isn't linked on the main site anymore since it's so old, but there you go.
I should make a new one someday.

Thank you.
I can't see myself making anything great with this technique... but, hey. If anything, it'd be fun to fuck around with.
